SEED RETAIL MEDIA NETWORK

Retail media, explained for cannabis

Brand campaigns on dispensary screens, at the moment of purchase. Only brands the store carries, only when they're in stock, on screens the retailer chooses. One network, two doors: one for retailers, one for brands.

Retail media is advertising a retailer sells on its own surfaces to the brands it carries. A retail media network packages many retailers' surfaces so brands can buy across them at once. In cannabis, the surface is the TV menus and kiosks above the counter, and the Seed Retail Media Network is the network: 6,500+ screens across 950+ dispensary storefronts, campaigns limited to brands each store stocks, verified through the POS before anything plays.

Every screen is an impression.

HOW IT WORKS IN A DISPENSARY

Three things happen. None of them need a person.

1

The retailer picks screens

Participation is set per device in Seed Manager. A store can run brand content in the lobby and keep the menu wall clean, or switch everything off.

2

The right campaign plays

Only brands the store carries, and only when the POS says the product is in stock. The same integration that runs the menu runs the check.

3

Money moves

Brands pay for the impressions. Participating stores generate credits against their Seed subscription, or direct payment, settled monthly. Brands get playback reporting.

Retail media questions, answered

What is retail media?

Advertising a retailer sells on its own surfaces to the brands it carries, reaching shoppers who are already in the store or on the site. A grocery chain selling an end-cap screen to a beverage brand is retail media. In cannabis, the surface is the screens above the counter.

What is a retail media network?

The system that packages many retailers' surfaces so brands can buy across them in one place, with one set of rules and one report. The Seed Retail Media Network does that for dispensary screens: brands book campaigns, participating stores run them, and Seed handles delivery, in-stock verification, and reporting.

How does a retail media network work in a dispensary?

Brand campaigns play in rotation with the store's menus on Seed screens. Campaigns are endemic, meaning they only run in stores that carry the brand, and in-stock status is verified through the store's POS before anything airs. Retailers control which screens participate, device by device.

How do retailers benefit?

Participation generates credits that apply against the store's Seed subscription, settled monthly, or direct payment for stores that prefer it. The store keeps control of every screen and can switch any of them off at any time. Details are on the retailer page.

How do brands advertise on dispensary screens?

Send an inquiry on Advertise with Seed. Campaigns run only in stores that stock the brand, verified through the POS, and playback reporting shows where and how often the campaign played.

How big is the network?

Seed runs 6,500+ screens across 950+ dispensary storefronts for 300+ cannabis retailers in 36+ U.S. markets. Participation is per screen, so the reachable inventory for any one campaign depends on which stores carry the brand and which screens their owners have opted in.
