THE GUIDE
Dispensary digital signage, explained
What the screens in a dispensary do, how they stay accurate, what they run on, and what to check before you buy. Written by the team that runs 6,500+ of them.
Dispensary digital signage is the set of screens inside a cannabis store that show the menu, promote products, and move the line: TV menus, self-service kiosks, queue boards, and promo screens. The good ones read from the store's point of sale, so prices, products, stock status, and specials update themselves. Seed runs 6,500+ screens in 950+ dispensary storefronts across 36+ U.S. markets.
FOUR SCREENS, FOUR JOBS
What runs on the walls of a dispensary
TV menus
The menu wall behind the counter and in the showroom. Reads products, prices, stock status, and specials from the POS, so it is right without anyone retyping it.
Learn more →Self-service kiosks
A tablet where shoppers browse the live menu and build their own order. White-label, on the same POS feed as the TVs. Checkout asks for a first name, last name, and phone number.
Learn more →Queue board
The line, on a TV: who is next and whose order is ready. Runs on the same screens as the menus, so nobody has to ask "am I next?"
Learn more →Promo screens
Deals synced from the POS, plus campaigns you schedule ahead: product launches, holiday pushes, loyalty sign-ups, on any screen at any store.

THE PART THAT MATTERS
The menu is the POS, on a wall.
Signage that gets retyped is signage that gets wrong. Seed reads from your point of sale and re-checks in minutes, so the price on the wall is the price at the register and sold-out products leave the menu on their own. How POS sync works.
WHY SEED SIGNAGE
Six things that are different about Seed
Honest sync, in minutes
Menus re-check the POS about every ten minutes by default. We say the real number and never claim "real time," because the honest number is what keeps the wall matching the register.
Per location, not per screen
Unlimited screens, playlists, and users at every store. Adding a TV over the register does not add a line to the bill.
Design is included
A design team comes with the software, 151,000+ media files are already in the platform, and Canva connects straight to the media library. Your team can edit everything after.
Campaigns, scheduled ahead
Launches, holiday pushes, and loyalty drives are scheduled weeks out, per store and per zone, and go live on a toggle.
Ordinary hardware
Any TV with an HDMI port, an Amazon Signage Stick (code SEEDSAMZN takes 10% off), an Apple TV 4K, or Android TV through Google Play. No proprietary boxes to lease.
Screens that generate credits
Participating screens can run in-stock cannabis brand campaigns through the Seed Retail Media Network. You control which screens participate, and participation generates credits against your subscription.
The product page: Seed TV Menu Signage. The longer argument: why 950+ storefronts pick Seed and stay.
HARDWARE
Ordinary screens. No proprietary boxes.
Any TV with an HDMI port, running an Amazon Signage Stick (code SEEDSAMZN takes 10% off) or an Apple TV 4K. Kiosks run on Elo touchscreens or iPads from 2018 on. Buy your own from the compatible hardware list, or read the TV buying guide first.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Six things to check on any signage vendor
- Reads your POS, by name. Ask which systems it connects to. Seed reads from Dutchie, Treez, BLAZE, Flowhub, COVA, Meadow, Weave, and more. A menu tool that cannot read your point of sale is a slideshow.
- An honest sync time. Vendors say "real time." Ask for the number. Seed syncs in minutes, about ten by default, and sold-out items drop off on their own.
- Per-location pricing. Per-screen billing looks cheap at one TV and gets expensive at six. Seed prices per location with unlimited screens, playlists, and users.
- Design included. A screen is only as good as its layout. Seed includes a design team with the software and your team can edit everything after.
- One login for every store. Org-wide channels with per-store overrides, so a promo goes to all locations in one move and a new store clones an existing one.
- Ordinary hardware. Any TV with an HDMI port, an Amazon Signage Stick or Apple TV 4K, and Elo touchscreens or iPads for kiosks. No proprietary boxes.
The longer version, with the eight questions to ask on a sales call, is in choosing dispensary menu software.
