THE CALENDAR
A good year on the wall
What goes on the screens, month by month, and a planner you can fill in. Built by the team that schedules content for 6,500+ dispensary screens.
A dispensary screen content calendar plans the seasonal windows on top of the everyday menu: the holiday deal, the brand launch, the loyalty push, scheduled ahead so the day arrives already handled. The menu itself needs no planning; it reads from the POS. The calendar is for everything else.
FIVE RULES
How the year works on a screen
Two kinds of content, one wall
Evergreen content (the menu, categories, loyalty) runs every day. Seasonal content (the holiday deal, the launch) runs for a window. Plan the second without breaking the first.
Schedule it two weeks out
Set the deal in the POS, schedule the promo screen in Seed Manager, and the week arrives already handled. Nobody rebuilds graphics on the morning of 4/20.
Per store, per zone
The lobby screen, the menu wall, and the kiosk have different jobs. A campaign can target one store, one zone, or everything.
Let the POS do the work
Specials on the wall come from the discount you already set at the register, strike-through pricing included. The calendar is for the promo screen and the brand push, not for retyping prices.
Check your state first
What you can promote on an in-store screen (discounts, free products, potency) varies by state. The rules-by-state page has the citations; confirm before the campaign goes live.
MONTH BY MONTH
What to put on the wall, and when
January
- New Year’s week: restock features, staff picks for the year, a loyalty push while traffic is high.
- Quiet month otherwise. Good time to refresh evergreen layouts.
February
- Super Bowl Sunday: edibles, beverages, pre-roll multipacks.
- Valentine’s Day (Feb 14): gift-ready products and two-for deals.
March
- St. Patrick’s Day (Mar 17): beverages and pre-rolls, one themed promo screen.
- Spring drops: brand showcase for whatever lands.
April
- 4/20: the biggest deal week of the year. Every screen, every store, scheduled the week before.
- Queue board on. Lines get long.
May
- Mother’s Day (second Sunday): topicals, tinctures, gift bundles.
- Memorial Day weekend: three-day-weekend specials.
June
- Father’s Day (third Sunday): gift bundles and accessories.
- Summer kickoff: beverages front and center.
July
- July 4th: long-weekend specials.
- 7/10: concentrates, vapes, dab accessories. The second cannabis holiday.
August
- Late summer: move what did not move in June and July.
- Brand showcases for fall launches that ship early.
September
- Labor Day weekend: end-of-summer specials and clearance.
- Football season: Sunday deals on edibles and beverages.
October
- Croptober: fresh outdoor flower drops, farm and brand features all month.
- Halloween (Oct 31): edibles, one themed screen.
November
- Veterans Day (Nov 11): the veteran discount reminder, where your state allows it.
- Green Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving): historically one of the biggest sales days of the year. Then Black Friday and the weekend.
December
- Holiday gifting from Dec 1: gift sets, accessories, stocking-stuffer sizes.
- New Year’s Eve: beverages, edibles, party bundles. The week between the holidays is busy.
Add your own: the store anniversary, your state’s legalization date, the local event that fills the parking lot.
THE PLANNER
One row per thing on the wall
A spreadsheet with a row for every campaign: go-live date, occasion, which screens, what plays, who owns it. The schedule-by date calculates from your lead time, a key-dates sheet lists the occasions above, and a summary counts what each month has planned. Two example rows show the format; overwrite them.
Opens in Excel, Numbers, and Google Sheets. No email required.
THEN SCHEDULE IT
Plan it in the sheet. Run it in Seed Manager.
Campaigns on Seed are scheduled weeks or months ahead, per store and per zone, and go live on a toggle. The deal itself comes from your POS. How content scheduling works.
