SEED SELF SERVICE

Self-service kiosks for Missouri dispensaries

Shorter lines, bigger carts, and loyalty sign-ups that happen on their own — kiosks synced live to your POS. Missouri flipped to adult-use fast and kept its license cap — capped-market stores run busy, and busy is where menu accuracy pays for itself.

KIOSKS IN MISSOURI

Built for the room Missouri actually has

Regulars want out in five minutes; first-timers want to read without being hovered over. Kiosks serve both: an express lane for the shoppers who know their order, and pressure-free browsing for the ones still deciding — sort, filter, and read at their own pace, which matters in a store where the products live behind glass. Checkout asks for three things — first name, last name, phone number — and the order lands in your POS.

Seed kiosk showing a larger average order

40% higher average order value

Nobody explores add-ons while a line forms behind them. Kiosks let shoppers browse without the clock — and our recommendation engine suggests relevant products at the moments that matter. Less rush, bigger carts.

150% more loyalty sign-ups

Enrollment happens at the kiosk, mid-order, with no extra step at the counter — which is why stores see dramatically more sign-ups than on standard kiosks. Loyalty grows while the line moves.

Your brand on the glass, not ours

Kiosks are fully white-label: your colors, your logo, your voice. And checkout asks shoppers for exactly three things — first name, last name, phone number — because sixteen form fields is how you end a line-skipping express lane.

IN-STORE SCREEN RULES · MISSOURI

What you can show on screens in Missouri

In-store screens are advertisements in Missouri because the definition covers video and electronic means, so their content must satisfy the same four limits as a billboard: nothing false or misleading, no curative or therapeutic claims without FDA approval, no content attractive to children (including animal or fruit shapes and cartoon or caricature humans), and no brand statements inconsistent with the label. Prices and discounts may be shown; no rule restricts price or discount advertising, and the dispensary rule acknowledges discounted or waived prices. A screen visible from a public right of way must comply with local sign ordinances, and product sale or display may not be visible from a public place outside the facility. The rules do not require warning statements on advertisements, do not address depiction of consumption, and impose no pre-approval, fee, or sign count or size limits.

Applies to: medical and adult-use facilities, under the same rules. Regulator: Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Division of Cannabis Regulation.

  • In-store video and electronic displays fall within the definition of advertisement. “any dissemination of information by print, audio, or video means, whether through the media or otherwise” (19 CSR 100-1.010(3))
  • Advertising must comply with local sign and advertising ordinances and state law. (19 CSR 100-1.100(5)(A))
  • No false or misleading representation; no curative or therapeutic claim unless FDA-evaluated and approved. “Any statement representing that the use of marijuana has curative or therapeutic effects” (19 CSR 100-1.100(5)(B)1-2)
  • No content attractive to children, including animal or fruit shapes and cartoon or caricature renderings of humans. “Any content that is attractive to children, including but not limited to the shape or any part of the shape of an animal or fruit” (19 CSR 100-1.100(5)(B)3)
  • Brand statements on displays must be consistent with the product label. (19 CSR 100-1.100(5)(B)4)
  • Interior signage visible from a public right of way, such as a screen facing a window, must comply with local sign ordinances. “Outdoor signage and, if visible from a public right of way, interior signage, must comply with any local ordinances for signs or advertising” (19 CSR 100-1.100(5)(C))
  • Sale or display of product may not be visible from a public place outside the facility. (19 CSR 100-1.100(4)(B))
  • No restriction on advertising prices or discounts was found; the rules acknowledge discounted or waived prices. No provision on free product was found either way. (19 CSR 100-1.180(2)(D)2.F)
  • Required in-store notice that a minimal amount of cash is on hand; non-marijuana merchandise must be displayed separately and identified as unregulated. (19 CSR 100-1.180(2)(K), (M))
  • No required warnings on advertisements, no rule on depiction of consumption, no sign count or size limit, no pre-approval or fee, and no video-specific rule were found. (19 CSR 100-1.100(5))

Potency on menus: No rule found for menus or displays. THC content is a packaging and labeling requirement (19 CSR 100-1.120), and labels are excluded from the definition of advertisement.

Where the rule is "keep it accurate," a menu that reads from the POS does the work: sold-out products drop off on their own and the price on the wall is the price at the register. Where the rule is about content, the layout and the campaign are yours to keep inside the lines.

Kiosks in Missouri: questions, answered

Do Missouri dispensaries use self-service kiosks?

Yes — self-service is standard equipment in modern dispensaries, the same way it is in airports and quick-service restaurants. Seed runs screens in 950+ storefronts across 36 states and D.C. Missouri flipped to adult-use fast and kept its license cap — capped-market stores run busy, and busy is where menu accuracy pays for itself.

Does a Seed kiosk work with my POS?

That’s the point of it. Kiosks populate from your live inventory through our API integrations — Dutchie, Treez, Blaze, Flowhub, COVA, and more — so shoppers only see in-stock products at the correct price, and orders land in your POS for fulfillment. See how the sync works.

Will the kiosk say Seed on it?

No — your kiosks are white-label. Your brand, your colors, your menu. Shoppers experience your store, not our logo.

Will self-service replace my budtenders?

Only as much as you want it to. Some stores run kiosks as the primary ordering channel and point staff at fulfillment; others use them as a pressure valve for rush hours. Your floor, your call — the kiosk just makes the choice available.

What does a kiosk cost?

Seed pricing is per location with unlimited screens and users — a kiosk doesn’t add a line item. Hardware runs on Elo touchscreens or iPads (2018 and newer). The full breakdown, hardware included, is in our dispensary kiosk cost guide.

How fast can my store go live?

Most stores go from signed to screens live in about a week. Book a demo — we’ll show your actual menu on a kiosk, not a mockup.
