SEED SELF SERVICE
Self-service kiosks for New Jersey dispensaries
Shorter lines, bigger carts, and loyalty sign-ups that happen on their own — kiosks synced live to your POS. New Jersey is scaling town by town, and new stores open into real competition on day one — the store that looks finished earns trust first.
KIOSKS IN NEW JERSEY
Built for the room New Jersey actually has
Regulars want out in five minutes; first-timers want to read without being hovered over. Kiosks serve both: an express lane for the shoppers who know their order, and pressure-free browsing for the ones still deciding — sort, filter, and read at their own pace, which matters in a store where the products live behind glass. Checkout asks for three things — first name, last name, phone number — and the order lands in your POS.
40% higher average order value
Nobody explores add-ons while a line forms behind them. Kiosks let shoppers browse without the clock — and our recommendation engine suggests relevant products at the moments that matter. Less rush, bigger carts.
150% more loyalty sign-ups
Enrollment happens at the kiosk, mid-order, with no extra step at the counter — which is why stores see dramatically more sign-ups than on standard kiosks. Loyalty grows while the line moves.
Your brand on the glass, not ours
Kiosks are fully white-label: your colors, your logo, your voice. And checkout asks shoppers for exactly three things — first name, last name, phone number — because sixteen form fields is how you end a line-skipping express lane.
“Happy Valley has reported up to 26% larger order sizes on Seed, compared to traditional sales.”

IN-STORE SCREEN RULES · NEW JERSEY
What you can show on screens in New Jersey
Inside a New Jersey store, a screen may carry product listings, brand imagery, and safe-use information, and interior advertising is exempt from the 200-foot school buffer. Any advertisement of a cannabis product must carry the full CRC warning and a statement that the business is licensed by the State, and the rule states no in-premises exemption. Price advertising is prohibited except a catalogue or printed price list available at the business, or prices on a website; the rule does not say whether an interior digital price menu qualifies as a printed list, so that point is not settled. No cannabis or brand advertising may face the exterior, and products may not be clearly visible from outside. Medical alternative treatment centers face stricter signage rules: black text on white, never illuminated, printed price lists only to patients and caregivers. No pre-approval, fee, sign-count, or in-store video rule was found.
Applies to: adult-use retailers under N.J.A.C. 17:30; medical alternative treatment centers under N.J.A.C. 17:30A, with stricter signage rules. Regulator: New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC).
- Advertising is permitted only where at least 71.6 percent of the audience is reasonably expected to be 21 or older, with audience records kept. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(a), (f))
- Any advertisement of a cannabis product must carry the full CRC warning; no in-premises exemption is stated. “This product contains cannabis. For use only by adults 21 years of age or older. Keep out of the reach of children.” (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(b))
- Any advertisement must state that the facility is licensed by the State of New Jersey. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(c))
- No content that targets or is designed to appeal to people under 21. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(d)1)
- The 200-foot school buffer does not apply to advertisements within the retailer’s premises. “This paragraph shall not apply to advertisements within the premises of a cannabis retailer” (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(d)3.i)
- No claims that products are safe because they are regulated or lab-tested; no promotion of rapid consumption or overconsumption; comparative safety or efficacy claims need two or more adequate, well-controlled studies. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(d)9-11)
- No cannabis or brand advertising on the building exterior, only identifying signage with the licensed name; products and paraphernalia may not be clearly visible from outside. “Display cannabis and cannabis paraphernalia in a manner that is clearly visible to a person from the exterior of a cannabis business” (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(e)1, (e)3)
- Price advertising is prohibited except a catalogue or printed price list available at the business, or prices on the business’s own or a third-party website. Whether an in-store digital menu showing prices qualifies is not addressed. “may make available a catalogue or a printed list of the prices and strains or cultivars of cannabis items at the cannabis business” (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(e)4)
- No commercial mascot near the premises; no promotional gifts or novelty items bearing cannabis references. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2(e)2, (e)5)
- Retailers must offer clearly visible safe-use information at the point of sale, which a screen can carry. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-14.3(i))
- No rule on video, motion, or moving signs inside a store; no sign count or size limit; no pre-approval or fee was found. (N.J.A.C. 17:30-17)
- Medical alternative treatment centers: exterior signage black text on white and never illuminated; no exterior product or brand ads; printed price lists only to patients and caregivers; no product visible from outside. (N.J.A.C. 17:30A-12.1)
Potency on menus: No rule found for menus or screens. Potency is a labeling requirement under N.J.A.C. 17:30.
Where the rule is "keep it accurate," a menu that reads from the POS does the work: sold-out products drop off on their own and the price on the wall is the price at the register. Where the rule is about content, the layout and the campaign are yours to keep inside the lines.
